Hi, I'm brand new to this forum so I hope I am not being redundant, I'm not too good at trying to search past threads for what I am trying to ask here!
Anyway, I was diagnosed 2 yrs ago as hypo-thyroid, was given too high a dose of Synthroid which sent my thyroid numbers out of control, thus now I have Graves. I have had horrible anxiety, mainly social anxiety stemming from this thyroid problem for the past 2 yrs. Even though my thyroid levels are normal at the moment, I still feel "weird" and out of it a lot of the time & I almost have panic attacks sometimes when I am at a movie, or in line at the grovery store, for instance. I have headaches just about everyday (not sure if thats related) & I get that vertigo-like feeling quite a bit too. It used to be a lot worse, so I was put on Paxil 12.5mg & it worked but my sex drive was non-existent so I switched to Celexa 10mg, which made me way too shakey all the time, but it also helped. I was off it after 1 yr. I have Xanax .5mg also that I take as needed, which helps a lot.
Anyway, now it seems that it's all coming back to me so my doctor (UC Davis Med, in CA) suggested either Zoloft or Lexapro to help control this. I am starting a new job as a flight attendant in 2 wks & moving to a place by myself where I don't know anyone, so we are assuming that's what's sparking the anxiety again. Does anyone else have similar experiences? Also, which is "better" in your opinion, Lexapro or Zoloft?
