For unipolar depression, there is some consensus that the dosages used for lithium augmentation be in the range of 300-600mg. If you tolerate the 900mg, I guess that would end up being a time saver and perhaps represent some insurance just in case you have some atypical presentation of bipolar disorder. If it works - God willing - you can adjust the dosage downward.
