hi Vonnie,
I'm glad you're feeling better! Good news.I'm trying to get off the Lex entirely w/o needing to switch to another drug. Of course, if my anxiety comes back, I'll have to go back on the Lex.
I'm hoping I can manage the anxiety without the meds, esp. b/c I hope to get pregnant soon. My doc said that it's generally regarded as safe to take Lex while pregnant, although the drug hasn't received the formal OK yet. Then she told me that the first 3 mo. are the most critical for a baby's formation and that if I'm worried about neural tube defects (geez...it's me, the worrier...do YOU think I'm anxious about that, AND many many other things!?) I could plan to stay off the Lex for the first 3 mo of pregnancy. But she also said that she has many patients who take Lex thruout a pregnancy and the babies are just fine.
Does anyone have personal experience or know of a friend who had a baby while on Lex? How did it go? Any advice would be great!
thanks,
JenStar
