If you have OCD, I would try Tramadol it's a analgesic affects the opiate system, has really helped me. Do a search for Dr. Nathan Shapira and his work with Tramadol.,

"I just don't understand why I'm so anxious.
It just came out the blue, last winter.

you're not alone, I know this probabloy won't mean much now, but I felt like you, I didn't think there was any hope. Anxiety can come out of the blue, and it is not a reflection on your character or the like. I had horrific anxiety, and now I'm getting well.

A number of years ago I would have been wise to shy away from someone asking if there was hope for anxiety, but some wonderful new drugs have come out.

For OCD, try Tramadol, search Dr. Shapira.. Also many people are helped by combining an a-typical with an SSRI. Benzos are perscribed with hesitancy, and perhaps rightly so, although they reduce anxiety, they can affect memory, and cognition. I tried to come off them too quickly once and almost killed myself. I'm now slowly tapering off them, so caution there. But the good news is, that a new drug, pregabalin, which is related to neurontin, but supposedly is stronger, with less side effects, is supposed to be coming out in europe soon, under the name lyrica. I talked with a researcher and he said he had seen it do wonders for people with social phobia. Remeron sedates me, and I take it for sleep, in my experience I wouldn't recommend it as frontline treatment, if you want to be active. It's said by some to be a "chamelion drug" meaning, as you increase the dose, it starts to affect different chemicals. Whatever the case, my psychiatrist whom I respect says that in his experience raising the dose only causes more sedation.

Then there's Effexor, I found it to be helpful at 150mg, and cause anxiety at 300mg. Everyone responds differently, but hang in there, this is just a start, there are many options, and you don't need to feel hopeless,

15mg Remeron
4mg Clonazepam
2.5mg Zyprexa
all at bed time

150mg effexor - morning,
50mg Tramadol twice a day morning and one PM
Also take Dextromethorphan with the tramadol to prevent opioid tolerance. All the best:)

Ben
