change of hearing on meds

My son is on lamictal for epilepsy and was also taking zyprexa and adderall. He told me that sometimes he couldn't hear people talking to him because they sounded like they were mumbling. Also, he told me that girls voices sounded like men's voices and boys voices sounded high-pitched like a girl's voice. Has anyone ever experienced that before?
