If you've seen my earlier posts, you know I'm a long time sufferer of major depression, apparently worsening, and for the past several years "treatment resistant". (Of course that could simply mean you haven't found the right treatment yet, instead of sounding like a life sentence). I've just decided to abandon my latest trial of 80 mg/day Parnate. I was tolerating it well, in terms of SE's, but not getting any therapeutic effect after nearly 3 weeks at that level. My nurse practicioner/P Doc. will not allow me to go a higher dose, but would only consider augmenting with Li. Not wqanting to complicate things further, and without a positive response to build on, I elected to quit for another strategy. Don't know yet what that will be.
Re: selegiline patch, I have been combing the net for any news or hints of its availability, but so far nothing but the Feb. 2 news release. After E-mailing a note to Mylan, I got an E-mail back today asking for my phone number so one of their representatives could discuss the matter with me personally. This was quite a surprise to me, and may not amount to any real "news", but I'm encouraged nonetheless, and there's certainly nothing to lose from getting to talk to a real company rep. So, if any thing substantial comes out of this call back, I'll report it on Pbabble right away. Patience, Persistence. Regards, Sailor
