In reply to dosages?, posted by sexylexy on January 28, 2004, at 11:19:40
Lexy - Did anyone respond to you on this? I think I've put mine down before, but here goes:
I started on 10 mg. At 2 weeks I noticed a signifcant improvement in mood and over-all tolerance, but then came the week before my period. I got depressed, angry & sad again, kind of unable to deal. But it was not awful like it had been.
At 8 weeks, I wasn't quite where I wanted to be - especially in the 10 days before my period. I waited til 10 weeks to be sure and then upped my dose to 20 mg. (after asking my doctor). I'm at 4 1/2 weeks on the new dose and I've noticed a significant improvement in the last few days. I'd say I'm out of the woods on depression, still have a little anger and anxiety during my "bad" week (right now) and am still having sleep issues.
I think it's a good idea to give it 9 or 10 weeks. You'd hate to up it if you don't really have to!
Food for thought & I welcome responses:
I wonder if I'll ever be happy like I used to be. I think part of my happiness was naivety and a complete lack of cynicism about the world. After going through some things in the past 2 or 3 years, I think I'm changed forever. Part of my depression stems from mourning my old self and old state of mind and accepting a new reality, a new order to my world. Hey, do you think I just grew up at the ripe old age of 40????? ha!Hugs and peace to you all!

Hey Ya'll,
> Would you all mind just writing a quick reply to let me know what dose you are on and when you started feeling "normal" again. I have decided to stay on 10mg for 9 or 10 weeks before switching but I am curious about ya'lls experiences.
> Thanks!
