Everyday I wake up about 3AM shaking, and lay there for 3 hours trying not to let the anxiety attack fully develop. I know I'm whining a bit, I have to be patient, I've just never taken anything like this before. The attacks are lessening a bit everyday. I'm just looking forward to the day I can sleep all night again. Thank you to all of you for making me know I'm not alone...

I am usually pretty calm in bed but then in the morning when I have to face the day fatigued my anxiety level then rises. Then I get depressed. I have found that I can only handle 5 mg of Lexapro currently. Is this a similar experience to anyone of you guys? I am in mid 4th week and am worried that my dosage is too low and am scared to raise it. Restoril as a sleep aid is only somewhat effective and I want to stop it anyway. Can anyone recommend an effective OTC sleep aid? Thanks all-Steve

I don't develope a tolerance much to it, and I'm able to wake up in the morning unlike my experience with Ativan. Trazadone has very inexpensive generics available but it requires a doctor's prescription. Good Luck. Insomnia & depression/anxiety go hand in hand.

Kimberly,
I have a prescription for trazadone but am a little worried about taking it. Can you describe your experience? Isn't it a pretty heavy duty drug just for insomnia? Will it counter the effects of the Lex? Best-Steve
