The VERY BAD (lots of) hair loss did NOT stop in the 2+ years I was on it (and my hair is like straw too). The whole time I was on the Topamax I also took all the vitamins that were suppose to keep/stop the hair loss, but it didn't help at all. I took the vitamins anyway along with my other vitamins everyday, I guess I keep hoping it would help! The Topamax did work for me as a mood stabilizer for my bipolar that's way I stayed on it so long. However just this week, Monday in fact I was switched to Zonegran. I'm hoping I will not have the hair loss with this drug but I will continue to take the vitamins and wait to see what happens. All I know is that Zonegran is suppose to be a milder Topamax (less side effect) ! I don't know anyone else who is or has been on this med to get their option of it. Just a FYI - You can't take Zonegran if you are allergic to sulfonamides (sulfa drugs).
