I'm a 24 year old college student taking Parnate for SP. I've tried Zoloft (did nothing) and Paxil (helped some, but caused hairloss). I've been on Parnate for 2 months (first month 10mg/day, second month 20mg/day) and it has made me smile more easily, thats it.
Here is the problem... my front hairline is receeding a bit again. The strange thing is that the hairs right on my hairline are very short and thin, almost like the hair folicle slowly crapped out. My long-time barber noticed this and said something without my mentioning anything, so from that perspective, I'm not imagining this.
I have enough Parnate left for 3 weeks at 10mg. My questions is, if I'm going to quit, do I need to really go back to see my psychiatrist? Its going to cost me $85 that I don't have. He is the best pdoc I've been to though so I feel it would be rude to just cut the relationship out without a final visit. But then he may charge me some special "exit session" charge or something like that. My next appointment is in 10 days. I know if I call him, he is going to insist on one final visit to give me more meds for tapering. Another $130 down the drain. What do you guys think I should do?
Thank you.
