Lexapro and sleep

Posted by Lev on September 6, 2003, at 17:06:18

I am on my 3rd day of using 10mg Lexapro and I'm experiencing the tired feeling that seems rather common for the majority of my day. This does bother me some (mainly concentration), even if it does help my anxiety issues.

My problem is that I can't really sleep at night. I've had problems sleeping for months and the doc said that since my Ambien wasn't really working for me (I didn't want to admit I had more than a sleeping problem) that Lexapro should eventually help because I won't be so nervous and depressed when I try to sleep.

I currently take Lexapro in the morning and I'm starting to wonder... if I take Lexparo at night instead, would there be a good chance that I would sleep better at night and not be so tired during the day? I would just try it myself, but I'd rather not screw up my schedule so early in taking the meds.

And also, after the initial side effects wear off, is it normal to still feel so tired after a few weeks/months?

Sorry if these questions were already brought up, I'm new here and couldn't find them. Thanks for the help, this board is a great resource.
