If you have a drinking problem like you say you do, then it might be a good idea to call the AA folks and find a meeting. Attend a couple of meetings and see what you think.
Effexor might make you better able to cope with a problem, but it is not intended to solve problems.
Alchohol ruined my fathers' life and caused my mothers' death at 52.
