Hi! I've been taking Nardil for about 2 months. For me it took about 3-4 weeks for it to kick in, but you should remember that it'll be different for each person. I take 45mg, 2 at noon & 1 at 6pm. Everything was great from week 4-7 but now it feels like I need to increase my dose. You should try typing "MAOI Diet List" in a Yahoo or Google search engine and read as much as you can on the links that pop up. Many of the old diet lists are outdated and exaggerated. A hypertensive crisis usually consists of headaches, neck stiffness, sweating, nausea, vomiting and visual problems. Usually I can feel a slight reaction like 15-20 minutes after I've eaten something that I shouldn't have. I've never had a severe hypertensive crisis but I think that would only happen if you started pigging out and stuffing yourself with food/drinks that are high in tyramine. The main side effect that I've experienced is diareahha and gas. But for you it might be different because some people experience constipation instead. Remember every person is different, and this is just how my body has reacted to Nardil. Hope it'll help!
