Yes, depakote (valproic acid) particularly seems to have a link to those kinds of things you mention; there is even literature (Medline, etc.) that posits that depakote may bring on PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome, which is an umbrella of symptoms which match those you described, among others).

Personally, I tried Tegretol (anticonvulsant) for several months in the later 1980s, and had the diffuse alopecia and slight hirsutism. BUT, it's quite possible that that syndrome (androgen hypersensitivity) was already underway.
