I was losing my hair when I took Depakote. It was awful.
My hair is thinning anyway (I'm female). I went to have my hair cut and she recommended that I use Nioxin "cleanser", "Scalp Therapy", and a third product that you squirt on your scalp when you comb your hair out. My understanding is that this stuff is just one step down from Rogaine (which they have for women, too). You can only get it in hair salons.
I stopped taking the Depakote and a month later my hair stopped falling out. I'm not growing a full head of hair, but things seem OK to me. I've been using it for a little over a year.
If you can figure out which drug is doing it, you will probably need to stop the drug in order to stop the hair loss. The shampoo etc. will just help you regrow hair - it won't stop the loss.
