Hi.

Possibly not. I have played with a bunch of combinations involving MAOIs, so I am not very timid about using them. It is not buspirone that concerns me, but its principle metabolite, 1-(2-pyrimidinyl)-piperazine (1-PP). It is a potent NE alpha-2 receptor antagonist. As such, it works a lot like Remeron (mirtazapine), and yields an increase of norepinephrine in the synaptic cleft via increased synthesis and release.

Theoretically, if one considers reboxetine to be a selective NE reuptake inhibitor without any other pharmacological properties, it should be safe to combine it with MAOIs. However, one cannot assume that reboxetine is without any other properties that would interact adversely with an MAOI. I have successfully combined Nardil with desipramine, another "selective" antidepressant that is known to have many other properties.
