I have OCD and depression, and I can't take any of the birth control pills (I've tried several) becasue they make me PSYCHO (sad/bitchy/anxious/you name it!).
BUT, I found that the Nuva Ring (a new type of birth control, this plastic ring that you insert into your vagina and it releases hormones, but in far lower concentrations than in the pills) does not have any psychological effects on me, and it's great! Talk to your dr about it.

> I just started taking birth control pills and I'm an absolute mess. I'm BPII and not only do I feel the meds are no longer working (400mg Lamictal, 300mg Seroquel) I feel moody as hell. I could cry over anything. I get so pissed when something goes wrong. I just can't let go of minor issues. My brother chews with his mouth open, I need to leave the room and calm down. What the hell is going on? This started about a week after I began taking the pill. I guess it's obviously related, so will it go away? When? I really don't want to stop taking the pill, so I can deal with this for a month or two, but not any longer. Anyone have similar experiences?
