Geodon withdrawal

Posted by BigJim on May 8, 2003, at 15:41:37

I've been diagnosed as schizoid. I have been on Risperdal and Zyprexa in the past. My latest med was Geodon. I had been on it for about 1 year. 80 mg a day. And also 60mg of Lexapro daily.

I decided to stop because, 1 - my pdoc visits are expensive, and 2 - I don't like the way Geodon makes me feel. I don't have the motivation I used to have and it makes me very sleepy during the day. I decided that I can deal with the intense daydreaming that I do sometimes.

However... stopping Geodon is giving me a reaction different from stopping the other meds. I feel wierd. Feels like my brain is floating inside my head bouncing from side to side. My eyes feel heavy in their sockets.

Will this go away? I have been taking 1 20 mg pill once a day now for two days to taper off. Any thoughts on why I feel like this and when will it stop?

Thanks,
Jim
