In reply to Luziluna thanks you all... I'm better now..., posted by Luziluna on May 5, 2003, at 17:36:11

hi luziluna!

> Thanks for all who posted follow ups to my panic-stricken posting about gaining weight on lexapro. I realize now that I am also about to get my period and I always feel fat and get a little more obsessive during that time....Although I must say, the lexapro has helped a lot with that PMS exacerbation thing too!!!
>

reads to me, with 2 notable period-related exceptions, that the answer to the question,
"Is everyone gaining weight on the Lexapro?", is no.

in fact, if the question was 'Is Anyone gaining weight on lexapro?', our little survey would have answered with the same 'no'.... (as in, *Nobody is gaining weight on lex!*) ..... right?

all of which should provide some comfort for our weight conscious folks, anyway. (?)

so.... Yeah! for Lexapro!.... maybe?

> Jim, I love your postings- you sound like a pretty cool dude, I must say!!

Thank you!! .... you have made me blush .... i have not meant to deceive you, but i am not even "pretty cool" once you get to know me .... ask my wife or our 4 year-old, especially our 4 yr-old! ... he'll tell you i am his "silly dad!" .... truth-in-posting sanctions insist we change "cool" to 'silly' for greater accuracy.

most flattering is your expression of appreciation of my posts ..... because i really try to write gentle, helpful messages for our board here .... Because i have received So much help, benefit, support, encouragement and strength from all of our posters here, so i try to make my own positive contributions ... i try .... so, Thank you, again!

>While I don't suffer from the constipation thing, I will remember the metamucil cure-all !! LOL!
>

we may pray you may never need the remedy .... i have just reached an age where things like "soluble fiber" have become regular supplements.

> So, I haven't gained any weight on Lexapro after a month and have actually noticed a decrease in appetite so, I don't expect I'll gain weight unless I change my eating habits or stop exercising as much....so I'm just going to calm my little 'ol self down and say "adieu" for now...and thanks again to you all out there!!

and this is the part i enjoyed the most...... because you sound like you have reconciled your concerns and .... you are happy!(?) ... i hope! ...(i appreciate this opportunity to reply too).

i always enjoy your posts .... please keep in touch!
TAKE CARE !!!!
