I must agree with the previous posters. All the information indicates that breastfeeding and Lexapro (or SSRI's in general) do not mix. While I am an advocate of breastfeeding as long a mother and child are comfortable, and as a wonderful process, a 21 month old has really had an exceptional opportunity to benefit from the experience. Now she needs a Mom who is healthy and ready to help her expand her world. Lexapro is so very new to the market that we are actually first generation users and perhaps need to be more careful for that reason alone. Good luck and good health.
