Hi- yes I've used cytomel -T3-version thyroid. I've also used T4-version "synthroid" or "levoxyl". My experience is that to get a robust response a T3 & T4 combo is the route. I've used them singlely and in combination and the combo is where it's at. They have a T3-T4 combo called armour thyroid, you can use that or take cytomel & synthroid separately and simply add them together, which is what I actually do. The cytomel I use very very small amounts 5 micrograms, and I actually break that into halves and take divided doses. The T4-I add approx. 25 micrograms again in divided doses. I take the divided doses a few hrs. apart. I personally get a considerable boost in mood and energy, and I've been doing this probably 10 yrs. so it doesn't poopout. The cytomel works extemely fast in 30 mins but it last only a day at most, yes I know the half-life is a bit longer than that but as we know 1/2-life doesn't always correlate with the actual physiological and resultant behavior effect. The T-4 takes a couple hrs in my experience to start to manifest a effect. If you can only use the cytomel I"d recommend staying around 15>>25 microgram range. That might seem small but remember T3 has 4 times the potency of T4,though a much shorter 1/2 life and isn't really cumulative as T4 is. Good Luck -!!!
