Wellbutrin for ADD - Inattentive type

Posted by essence on February 13, 2003, at 9:12:23

Hi;
My son, 15 yrs old, has had ADD since he was born, although technically, he couldn't be diagnosed as ADD until he was 6. With many years of behavioural modications through mental health,(ages 18 mos to 9 yrs) he did ok without medication. When he turned 12, things went out of control. He is back at mental health now and on top of being ADD - Inattentive, he also has depression and anxiety. His psychiatrist wants to treat with Wellbutrin alone. I personally feel the depression and anxiety is the results of his ADD not being treated and am afraid of putting him on Wellbutrin because of his anxiety. My own experience with Wellbutrin was disasterous. Has anyone here been treated with Wellbutrin for ADD, Depression and Anxiety all at once? If so, did it increase your anxiety? Did it help with the ADD?
Thnx in advance for any input.
