I agree completely with this statement. I went to a clinic several years ago and the pdoc there enthusiastically recommended Celexa... even though I had bad experiences on Zoloft and Prozac. My current pdoc is great, at least he listened to me when he started to write "Celexa" on my prescription. I told him the only AD I had ever done OK on was nortriptyline; and I've tried quite a few. He prescribed it for me but only because I insisted. I'm feeling better now, especially after adding Buspar (I wonder if anyone else here has tried the combo of Buspar and a TCA?). But for 10 years no one would the one medication that was at all helpful for me. SSRI's are newer and easier to prescribe but most definitely NOT necessarily "better."
