There are many methods to augment an antidepressant that is only partially working. It seems that my doc adds another antidepressant or sometimes even an antipsychotic or major tranquilizer. I really think it depends on which symptoms of the depression the first antidepressant did not fix, as to what augmenting drug the doc will prescribe.
