I've read on these message boards that Paxil seems to work better for women and Effexor for men, for what it's worth. If you were set on a SSRI, I would try either of these depending on your gender. I suspect the you will still get the restless legs and other side effects. Ambien helps me sleep without a hangover the next morning, when I've taken while on a SSRI.
My mother-in-law has great success with Paxil for anxiety and eating disorders. She loves the drug, but everyone is different. I hope you find the right one for you.
