I am currently trying to get off of Effexor. I was on Zoloft and went to a psychiatrist to try to get off of the anti-depressant, but they persuaded me that I should try Effexor. It's strange how they hand out these drugs like some kind of candy(by the way). I went back complaining about major headaches and she finally told me that I should go to the doctor and gave me lower dosages, eventually being off of it completely until I figure what is going on with my headaches. So here I am with 1 week of Effexor pills left that are 37.5 mg.
Right now I am basically experiencing a feeling of some sort of brain spasms. I get really frusturated because I get them when I'm driving and they usually come on at the end of the day, especially in cold weather I have noticed. I'm really worried that this will never go away. It's a strange and annoying feeling. I can't really describe it. It is like feeling dizzy, but only for a split second. It kinda goes throughout your head. I don't know what to call it, but brain spasms I guess. After this, I don't think I will ever go back to anti-depressants. I have been on Zoloft for 2 yrs and Effexor for only a couple of months. I'd rather deal with my anxiety and accept it as just my personality and that's just the way I am and life just has it's little hurdles. I can't always use anti-drepressants as a crutch. What worries me is that more and more of the population are using these drugs like it's not big deal. Pharmacist are handing it out like hotcakes. I have a real problem with this obviously. Thanks for your time and live well.
