Turns out it's an archaic volume measurement, with about 16 minims to the mililitre. At 5 mililitres to the teaspoon, you're talking 1/4 teaspoon.
Keep taking the cod liver oil. That's a safe daily dose. But, get some fish oil, i.e. fish *body* oil. If you're in Canada, you should have no trouble finding salmon oil. Walmart carries it.
Most people are shooting for 5 grams a day of fish oil, though some are taking much more than that. 5 grams would approximate to 5/4 teaspoons, or 1 1/4 tsp, or five times what you're currently taking.
