Hi Dinah,
I take 6mg of klonopin a day- 2mg tid. If I am having an unusually anxious time, I take xanax prn (in addition to the klonopin). I doubt your pdoc would be upset, but they usually like to be informed. If you are not used to more than 2mg/day then taking 3mg at once will probably cause you to fall asleep, if that's a problem, then maybe wait 8 hours until you take the extra mg. I hope you feel better soon- judy
