I had OCD and now started to take a mineral supplement including calcium, magnesium, potassium, boron, vitamin D etc.
But it includes glutamic acid, which from my discovery, is an excitory neurotransmitter.
I read someone that a boy with mild tics and OCD, AHDH had his amino levels examined and have high levels of glutamic acids. His father wants to counteract his son's glumatic acids with GABA/taurine etc, an inhibitory neurotransmitter.
But I also read that glutamic acid can be transformed into GABA.
So as an OCD patient, should I take glutamic acid (100mg) or seriously avoid it??????
Please advice!!!
Thanks!
