I agree that the ritalin XR forms have a reputation for uneven absorbtion. My previous pdoc wouldn't even write for it, he thought it was so bad.
Maybe for you it all gets absorbed too fast, and then you crash.
I think the 18mg Concerta or 20 mg Metadate are considered to be reliable sustained release forms of ritalin.
Only one warning, those two are brand only, so they may cost considerably more, depending on your insurance.
