Tapering Effexor, starting Lexapro,have questions

After an unsuccessful trial on Effexor xr 150 mg, my pdoc is trying Lexapro 10 mg. I started the Lexapro yesterday and my doc wants me to wean from the Effexor by 37 mg each week until I am at 0. Since I am taking the Lexapro concurrently, can I wean by 75 mg each week or am I setting myself up for misery? I have read numerous posts on effexor withdrawal and I want my experience to be as painless as possible but figured since I am taking the Lexapro concurrently, I can wean faster. I just want my relationship with the Effexor to be over asap. Any thoughts?
