Remeron - weight gain at higher dose?

Posted by sweetmarie on August 1, 2002, at 11:59:31

Hello

I`m completely sure that this question has been covered in lots of other posts, but I couldn`t find anything.

I know that Remeron (or Zispin as it`s called over here) is more sedative at lower doses than higher doses, although this hasn`t happened with me at any dose. My psychiatrist has put my Zispin up from 45 mg to 60 mg today, and I was wondering whether or not this will affect my weight. From what people (doctors, psychiatrists, nurses etc)have told me, Zispin is a `weight-gainer` as a result of increased appetite. This hasn`t happened to me - I`ve actually lost weight since putting on 4 stone when I was on Nardil. HOWEVER, I`m just wondering whether this might happen now that the dose has been increased.

Can anyone shed any light?

All contributions welcomed -

- thanks,

Anna.
