> Sorry I can't say for sure. I know that Dr. L feels strongly that Nardil is the single most effective med for social phobia. You certainly seem to hear about parnate working for people here and there, though, and with far fewer side-effects. How has your experience been? Is 12 weeks about twice as good as 6 weeks? I wonder if this is generally true for most meds. I wish I could repeat this about drugs other than Nardil, but I haven't heard anyone I respect say this. It certainly seems likely to be the case, though. I think the best piece of advice/encouragement here is that ADs in general take far longer than most of us here seem to give them.

> JonWell, I completely agree with you as far as having to give many of the meds quite a bit of time to work. It's extremely frustrating when you're dealing with depression all this time. Regarding Parnate, I really don't remember how long it took to kick in. I know we ramped up over a few weeks to 60mg to make sure I wasn't getting too dizzy. Then we continued on to 100mg pretty slowly. I felt better at 60, and even better as we increased. Then I topped out as far as dizziness at 100mg. I still feel good and am tapering off now (extremely slowly) and going on to Lamictal. I'm not as afraid of side-effects as I am in losing my respite from depression.
(Sorry for interupting your thread on Nardil. Just had a little question, but sometimes I talk too much.) : )
