> I have decided to go off this stuff, the side effects outweigh the benefit that I haven't been getting anyway. Not dreaming, no interest in sex, or ability once it gets started, being very removed from my experience. The other day I developed this rash on some very weird places on my body. At first I thought it was poison ivy, but then the welts stopped, and the palms of my hands began to itch like crazy. Today will be day 3 on 37.5. My GP just told me to stop and from everything I have been reading and hearing about this stuff, that would be a poor choice. So, I take apart the caps and separate all the little beads. It is a crap shoot because science does not entirely understand how these neurotranmitters are functioning, nor do they know what other neurotransmitters are truly being effected. These are just the ones they know about.
Hi Grace, I have successfully weaned off of effexor, but it took a long time. I first tried going from 150 to 100 to 50 then everyother day and that didnt work at all. My pdoc told me to go from 50 to 25mg to cutting the 25mg in 1/2 taking the 1/2 cutting it to 1/4. I followed this taking one in the moring and the other in the evening. 2 weeks on each dose. When I got to the 1/4...after 2 weeks I only took it in the morning. I can't tell who wonderful it was to wean off this way and feel terrific when I finished. No dizziness, lightheadedness. brain zaps, etc., I know the process is long but worth every second.Renee
