I have heard of paradoxical transient worsening of symptoms at the beginning of ssris. Supposedly should pass.

I'd like to second the opinion about being able to sense some of the beneficial effects of ssris within the first week. Not with all ssris, but certainly with Paxil (which I can take as a sleep aid on a once in a while basis, a couple hours after I take it the warm fuzzy content feeling sets in as if I had just finished Thanksgiving dinner and some ice cream, which is not mere sedation). Has a bad hangover the following day though, there are cleaner sleep aids.
