Hey Adamie,
You sound somewhat like me. SSRI's weren't the best for me, and I've had some pretty rough times on them. I'm now dxd Bipolar and am on a combination of a low dose of paxil (10mg) and a low dose of Depakote (500mg) which is a mood stabilizer. I don't feel *great*, but it's not the same as when I was on just an SSRI (those and SNRI's are the only AD's I've tried). I'm about 19, and I think I read before that you're in your late teens/early 20's, and someone recently posted that AD's (SSRI's) affect this group differently than they do adults (they don't work as well; they're effective for about 30%). I think you should also take into consideration what someone on another thread of yours posted about Bipolar. It seems like everyone is being diagnosed Bipolar now (personally I think it's just SSRI's/SNRI's causing some kind of reaction in a lot of people) but the medications that are used to treat Bipolar could be helpful to you (this combo is fairly calming for me; I know you'd at least be able to sleep on depakote). I'm guessing since you go back to the hospitol tomorrow you'll talk to your Pdoc and you can tell him what's going on. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
