dexamphetamine problem / kindling?

Posted by alex01 on October 14, 2001, at 2:15:25

wondering how to stop a problem I have seemed to pick up from trying dexamphetamine.

I have had depression/anxiety forever with a bit of a bipolar element to it.

I have tried lots of meds with varying success, the one strange feature of which is that I only have to have a very small amount of a tablet, usually a small chip or a couple of grains to have a big effect. So far no Doc has any idea why my metabolism is so sensitive.

I tried dexamphetamine 3 months ago, a small chip as usual and had a very big reaction that felt like an overdose, head was racing, anxious, sensory things felt strange etc. It went away after about an hour. But, although i havent had any more dex since then, 3 months ago, the reaction continues. It has been making my life hell, it is very scary and I feel morbid, anxious when it happens.

Is there any way to reverse this, or stop it, is it permanent? I have tried Zyprexa and Epilim which cover it up, although I can still feel it coming on in a "rush" underneath, when I go off Z or E the rushes come back.

I just want to go back to my normal depressed/anxious head which wasnt great but at least I felt like I was in control of it.
Any ideas gratefully received
