That's an odd selection for sleep (Depakote), even if it works. I think you would be happeir with trazodone or mirtazapine instead, unless you have some bipolar tendencies.
> Well, seems I've been riding the pharmaceutical wagon for the past 10 years. What ever happened to good-ole Freudian psychiatrists? O.K. I see what I can only describe as a psychopharmacologist shrink. He has been playing with my neurochemical balances. Seems to like the GABA receptors. In addition to your standard "depressive illness", I am now officially a 300.3 OCD (see DSM IV). I am doing Wellbutrin and Tranzene, which worked well for the past few years, except for continuing sleep disorder (which, strangely enough is a side-effect of the Wellbutrin). However, this dopamine buddy (though not a true agonist) does lift my mood. The Tranzene has "taken the edge" off my anxiety (GAD?). Doc just tried me on Depakote, which I do not like, in order to help improve my sleeping. I don't think this is an innocuous drug by any means. Anyone out there with similiar experiences? I am a 41 year old male.
