Effexor and Pregnancy

I have been on effexor 1 year and 7 months. I am taking 300 mg. My husband and I have been talking about having a baby and I am concerned about possible birth defects, etc. I asked my doctor and he said to ask my OBGYN!
Do you have any info on this?
