Initially I was on Zoloft. I stopped after two years because of a 30lb weight gain, constant craps, and no sex life to speak of.
Went on Wellbutrin, starting at 100mg and damn near went homicidal.
After detoxing, I can say this much.
We all want to be off the drugs we're on. We all want to be capable of functioning without them.
Talk to your Doc before you just decide "hey, screw it, I can do it on my own".
My Doc always starts out low dose. Come back in two weeks, tell me how you feel. I am so very lucky to have him, because he is very much into knowing his patients, their emotions, etc.
He has told me that I may never be able to be drug free, but he has also told me that he will take care of my while I come down, and will see me through til I balance, til I get to the homeopathic stage, where I take a pill, like one would need an insulin shot. He doesn't want me taking pills anymore than I want to be takin' em.
Lets just all look at this. Maybe, we're taking too high a dosage. Maybe we need to pare down and take half of what we're taking now.
Listen to your doctor, but most of all listen to yourself, your body. Make a journal of your feelings, emotions. See a pattern? Talk to your doctor.
Make your doctor work for YOU...Thats what you're payin em the big bucks for....
