I'm willing to bet that Lithium will restore the efficacy of your Effexor, and you will know for sure within at most 2 weeks. Its up to you whether you would bet on it too...

I doubt that English regular psychiatrists are less advanced than American ones, but if that turns out to be true somehow, you could always go see a psychopharmacologist (more money, but more knowledgeable guys).
