Hangovers help me with my anxiety

Why do alcohol hangovers relieve me of my anxiety/OCD/Manic Symptoms? The best medication I could possibly take would be the consumption of alcohol the night before. It's not that I'm still drunk, I just feel %100 better for the entire day. Once I sleep again, my symptoms seem to return. Does anyone have ideas what brain chemistry an alcohol hangover may be effecting and what medication could possibly mimic this outcome.
