sexual side effects with mood stablilizers?

Posted by roo on March 5, 2001, at 10:00:25

I never experienced any sexual side effects from my
mood stabilizer, neurotin, until the dose was increased
by 600 mg's (for a total of 1800mg's). I also take
prozac which does effect my sex drive/sensation, but it
got _worse_ (wasn't able to achieve orgasm at all, and
had even less motivation for sex) when the neurotin was
increased.
1) Has anyone else had this happen?
2) Are mood stabilizers even supposed to have these sort
of side effects and if so, which one is least likely to
have them?

I am _really_ bummed about this. The increase really
helped my anxiety a lot and I felt much better, but the
sex thing is a real big issue for me, and I was already
depressed about the prozac effect and to have it actually
get _worse_ is heartbreaking and frustrating and angering
to me. Help?!
