I, too, gained a significant amount of weight both on Celexa and Effexor. I tried Welbutrin after going off Celexa and before Effexor and lost the weight, but experienced terrible agitation, etc. My doctor insists it is not due to the Effexor but because I am feeling better, I am eating more. With 1 month, I will be weaned from the Effexor and will see what happens with the weight. I will write back to notify you of the results.
