Re: lamictal and headaches

Posted by Ted R on February 15, 2001, at 12:37:04

Started on lamictal 2 weeks ago. Have been up to 50mgs the last couple of days. Started getting headaches at the end of the 25mg dose period. The headaches continued and got worse with 50 mgs. I called my doc and he just said to stop the lamictal and see if the headaches go away. I guess I expected more advice from him, like "this is a transient side effect so take it slow and stay on it." But no just stop the med. I know headaches are common with lamictal, but wouldn't it be better to have tried to stay with the lamictal, or if headaches do occur with the drug, is it always an ongoing problem. The doc only gave me 30 seconds. The ass really cut me off on this, when he knows I feel like shit. I think psychiatrists should have to do both pharmacotherapy and talk therapy both, so we wouldn't get blown off so easily....TR
