HELP please for agitated depression

Posted by Julia on December 9, 2000, at 1:46:08

I have been suffering from an agitated depression for the last 10 weeks,it came on after I sropped dothiepin(a tricyclic available in the UK).I had been on that for nearly 3 years, but was only mildly depressed when I started it.I stopped it because of the foggy side effects, but it obviously was doing something as the depression hit hard about 3 weeks after stopping it. I have tried the following:celexa for 2 weeks but it made the agitation worse;reboxetine for 4 weeks which did not help and I was very low.For the past 4 weeks I have been on doxepin which was increased from 150mg to 200mg 3 days ago, lorazepam 2mg which I have been on for 8 weeks, and mellaril(thioridazine) doses of 50-75mg for 4 weeks. The mellaril gives me side effects but does seem to help with the agitation. Will the doxepin ever work?I have had a couple of good days in the last 2 weeks but still get awful ones where I feel low, agitated and suicidal.Any suggestions?! I feel I am getting to the end of my tether.I also suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome which I think is the cause of the depression, and have to rest quite a lot each day so have too much time to brood about how I feel.
By the way what ARE adrafinil and amisulpride-I can't find them on the pharmacology sites
