Hi Dove, I'm glad you enjoyed reading about my holidays. Being in touch with nature & peace & quiet does wonders for me.

Last weekend, my husband & I found an amazing place about 10 minutes away. It's in an undeveloped forest. We walked in a little way from the road, where we'd parked the car. We chose a fairly open part of the trail going in, and set up our folding chairs, got out our books, sat down, breathed & went directly into bliss!!! We said "Boy, is it PEACEFUL here!!". We felt so relaxed, peaceful, MELLOW...you'd think there was some sort of aerosol tranquilizer wafting about!! We both felt so peaceful & content. I closed my eyes & immediately got to a calm place in meditation - no thoughts, peace, calm, breathing slowed. Eventually, I stopped meditating & read & then just sat absorbing the vibes.
When we left we were still all blissed-out. Fortunately hubby was able to drive; I was too blissed-out to have done so safely!! We had planned to go to Chapters' Book Store after our "sit". We decided to go even though we were floating along. We went & I was even blissed out in there!! Even when we came out of there we were pretty blissed out. Amazing. Think how rich we'd be if we could bottle it!!

I'll write about my upcoming camping trip to a provincial park & my Sept trip to Ottawa area & Frontenac provincial park.

Take care, Kath

> I really enjoyed reading both Part I and Part II of your trip. Your detailed descriptions are exactly what I wish some of those travel guides would contain. I'm very pleased that you've been able to really enjoy a reprieve, it's so important for our sanity.

> We live life in fast forward, at least that's how it feels to me, and what you describe is like the opposite. Taking the time to catch and appreciate the details. The simple things, like wading in a stream. or sleeping under the stars, can refresh and renew that spark of vitality we need to function with hope. Very inspiring!
