Dylan - Whoa boy! There's definetly some anger in this one. Some people might not dare respond! But, I'm feeling brave (and betting on the fact that your migraine has passed!)
I have the ingredients for Biaxin here, but your complaints are in the wrong place. Yes doc's know meds, and know that the active ingredient: clarithromycin was what you needed. However, PHARMACISTS are the ones that went to school to be knowledgeable in medication ingredients and interactions. You need to find yourself one good pharmacist that you use every time you get a medication, even if it is over the counter. There are even pharmacists out there that still mix medications right there in their pharmacy if you can find one. When your doc prescribes something, take it to this awesome pharmacist you've found, and have him check it out. If it won't work with your specific needs, he can call the doc and they'll work out a suitable substitute. As far as the Biaxin ingredients, they differ based on which formula/dose you were given. I'm not a pharmacist, but I don't see anything that looks like it resembles a type of calcium. Here's the inactive ingredient lists: Biaxin YELLOW coated tabs 250mg (yes YELLOW, if yours was a big white horse pill it may have been either a different antibiotic or a substitute-check with the pharmacist): hydroxpropyl methylcellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, Yellow No.10, Blue No.1, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, pregelatinized starch, propylene glycol, silicone dioxide, sorbic acid, sorbitan monooleate, stearic acid, talc, titanium dioxide, and vanillin. The 500 my YELLOW coated tabs: hydroxypropyl methycellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, colloidal silicon dioxide, croscarmellose sodium, Yellow #10, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, propylene glycol, sorbic acid, sorbitan monooleate, titanium oxide and vanillin. Biaxin XL- YELLOW coated tabs: cellulosic polymers, Yellow #10, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, propylene glycol, sorbic acid, sorbitan monooleate, talc, titanium dioxide and vanillin.
Hope it helps, and that you're feeling well!> Is there a link between Calcium and Migraines?
