The more suggestable the more likely someone can be hypnotised. I was not a suggestable one and either was the professor but many others were. Hypnosis was demonstrated satifactorily on a few people who appeared to take to it and produced prebirth memories and something else that I forgot. I would see an expert at it with a Ph.D as the professor I saw demonstrate it had. That way you are also getting someone who can help with problems related to the depression if necessary.
It can't hurt to give it a shot, however, if an imbalance of neurotransmitters (a physical reality) is the root cause of the depression, I wouldn't get my hopes up too high... Good luck.
