Dear William,
I have tried both, with much greater success on the Survector. The trouble is, it was recently discontinued by the manufacturer. After living in the Philippines several years and making friends on different islands, I am now in the process of e-mailing about, to buy up as much leftover stock as I can. Do you get the idea that this stuff actually works? Used in conjunction with sulpiride (Dogmatil), a neuroleptic, it was energizing in a non-artificial way and lifted my mind out of the miry pit as well. This combo worked better for me than anything I have ever tried. Amineptine, which I tried to use with the Dogmatil, did not do it for me. I felt sleepy and listless, almost as badly as I have on the SSRIs.
Andrew B has written about a med called amisulpride, also not available in the US but he gets it on a regular basis. It also works on the dopamine receptors in what sounds like a similar way to the combo of which I speak. Check out his posts from the last couple days on "fatigue," written to me and Janet, then follow that thread for some great info. He is much more eloquent and knowledgeable than I on this D1-D2 receptor issue. Wish I knew more but I'm learning. One thing is for sure. Seratonin is NOT my problem and something about Dopamine most decidedly IS.
Best to you...
Karen B
